Announcement:

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Betty Thom, who, along with her husband, Harold were the founding members of the musical group "The Cumberlands"

Betty passed away in her sleep on Sunday December 4, 2011 at her home. There were no signs of a heart problem, but she died of heart failure about 7:15 that evening sitting beside her husband in the home on the horse farm she loved.

She had fans around the world. She was a ballet dancer, artist, singer, banjo and guitar player and a virtuoso on the tambourine. She will be greatly missed. A part of my soul is gone, said Harold, her husband of fifty five years.

"Solo" from Harold Thom of The Cumberlands

Over the years people have requested a solo project similar to Harold Thom's appearances at The Old Stone Inn in Simpsonville, Kentucky and other venues. This is it! These songs are among a selection he's been performing since he started singing for a living in the sixties. A couple of them were written long before that. See it on our ALBUMS page.
